社会学学习——你最喜欢的动物？Social study What’s your favorite animal?
In preschool education cognitive development is very hard to be separated into several segments. It contains all processes of challenges, explorations and internalizations. Social study is everywhere during our life and study.
In Magnolia we take any chances to explore the society combined with children coming from all over the world, which have their own culture and customs. Our aim is to develop children as a citizen of the world, which means every one bring and share their ideas from their own experience into this small society.
Children build a small community in their classes. Then they expand the society as they grow up. We are trying to not only give them chances to express themselves but also use an interesting way to know others.
When we are in animal theme, children made a form to record every one’s favorite pets. They chat, introduce, ask questions and record the information gathered from others. They look for friends who like the same animal. They entered into other classes to ask their friends and staffs such as our baoan shushu (the guard).
In this process, children practicing a real way of communication. They share and exchange information and their own personality with each other. They are suggested to talk one by one and listen to others carefully. They enter into the world and look for friends who fell in with the same humor withprosocial behaviors.
In other themes we do the same thing such as searching the favorite flowers in people’s park in spring theme and exploring the different tastes of food in health week. One simple form can connect all of the children. More and more, the society grows up as children grow up.
